Even though they're called cakes, tea cakes are old-fashioned cookies made with butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and vanilla. Ingredients: Butter - 1 cup Sugar -1.5 cups Maida - 2 cups Egg whites - 5 Orange - 1 (juice + zest) if small oranges, use three Baking powder - 0.5 tsp Baking soda - 0.25 tsp Vanilla essence Procedure: Sieve maida with baking powder, baking soda & keep aside. Butter the baking tin, and keep aside. Preheat the oven to 160°c. In a bowl take butter, egg whites and add sugar to it & beat it for 2min, then add the orange juice & mix well. Then add orange zest, vanilla essence and mix it nicely, then add sieved maida mixture make a batter. Pour the batter into a baking tin, then bake it in a preheated oven for 45min over 160°c.
